Santa Monica - Beach it!

Today's post is a tribute to summer's sweetest spot - the beach! This was taken at Santa Monica Beach. If you haven't been to the beach yet this summer, shame on you, go!

Costco VIP

If you have any plans on trimming down, don't work with us and don't ever visit us at work cause we are huge fatties. Today was our monthly Costco run and we stocked up. Everyone is in a better mood after Costco runs and we all kinda grin in glee when everything is assembled and ready for mass consumption. There are only about 13 of us here on a regular basis so this is a lotta food for that many bellies. Anyway, just thought this much sugar, fat, high fructose syrup, salt, and beer deserved a post.

Home is Where the <3 Is!

For the past 3 years, I lived at 465 Midvale and loved, loved, loved it. We had a back and front porch, our own mini parking lot, hardwood floors, floor to ceiling windows, and I had a full on walk-in closet. A lot of great memories were made in that little apartment.

As much as I loved living there, I am even more excited about my new place. Aside from exciting upgrades like carpet, my own room and bathroom, and a pool, I have my panties in a bunch about living with 2 of my best friends!

Here are the featured ladies! Andrea (roomie for 2 years) and Gardenia. You can meet them at our house warming party! :D

Learning to Love You More by Miranda July

This past weekend I stumbled upon a really great book at Family in Melrose. It's called "Learning to Love You More" by Miranda July. It's made up of responses to 68 different and inspirational assignments. The assignments are things like photograph a memorable or significant outfit, take a picture of your parents kissing, write the conversation you wish you could have, reread your favorite book from 5th grade, etc... You can get the complete list of assignments here and do them yourself, I recommend it and hope to start on them too.

The book is pretty awesome. July compiles the best of the best photographs, poems, and stories submitted by people from all over the world. Some of the submissions will send chills up and down your back or make you smile, cry, laugh - feel - period.

Cinespia

If you love summer evenings, I have the perfect venue for you : Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. On Saturdays and Sundays a classic movie (often black and white) is put on and hundreds gather with favorite treats and wine to watch and kick back.

It gets a bit crowded so you should get there early and plan on being there for a while before the movie starts. People play games, listen to music, and snack while waiting. Tons of fun, $10 to get in, go!
